I love the Beach Gull on Discarded Hayling Island Map
'I love the Beach Gull' on Discarded Hayling Island Map is hand-sprayed onto the discarded map. This was originally painted on the streets a couple of years ago and i have been waiting for the perfect opportunity for a background to paint this artwork and this was fantastic as if the gull is flying above the island.
The idea behind the artwork was from watching gulls steal food, and take on people wherever they are its quite surreal when you see it happen. So I began seeing them people and doing what we do, going on holiday taking their bucket and spade to build sandcastles as they play in the sea. Of course the humour in this artwork with gull that has got a tied bandana on its head like i remember as a kid in the 80's that people used to wear and its bucket and spade with the 'I love the beach' on the side of the bucket as if its proud to go to the beach.
