Iridessa the Graff Writer on Reclaimed Sign
The 'Iridessa the Graff Writer' is painted on a disguarded reclaimed sign and given a new lease of life. Iridessa (like the rainbow) sits atop a No Entry sign full of colour and positivity in the words that adorn the sign that she has painted with her spray can of peace. This artwork is about sharing the love of being creative and surrounding ourselves with things that make us happy, in a positive and colourful way.
I have always been drawn to graffiti wording and lettering, the way they flow and connect, the colours you can use to change a simple word into something beautiful. This was about taking the journey one step further and not just painting the sign but creating it to feel natural when you see how the graffiti fonts and colours connect to tell a story. The sign was given a defused background and graffiti added to accentuate the vibrancy and the finishing touch of adding Iridessa (who i created 2 years ago for the sign knowing over time the idea would come to fruition). This artwork has lots of colour and a fabulous pop art look to the artwork. The colour and artwork really pop and will look super cool in any room as you can see from the gallery of images showing how it will look hung.
