Atlas the Great on Reclaimed Sign

The 'Atlas the Great' is painted on a disguarded reclaimed sign and given a new lease of life. Atlas is a second-generation Titan, son of Iapetus and Clymene. Following the Titanomachy (the war between the Titans and the Olympians), Zeus condemned Atlas to eternally hold the celestial sphere (often depicted as the world) on his shoulders. Much like Climate Change the weight of change is upon Atlas's shoulders as he carries the melting ice sculpture as tries to save the planet.

As a fan of Greek Mythology it felt apt to use Atlas for this artwork, signifying his strength of character to carry out this monumental mission. The sign was given a defused background and graffiti added to accentuate the border of the sign which gives it lots of colour and a fabulous pop art look. The colour and artwork really pop on this one off piece of art and will super cool in any room as you can see from the gallery of images showing how it will look hung.
