Atlas Giving Hope on Cardboard

The 'Atlas Giving Hope' is painted onto cardboard, this was something I do to test pieces I am painting before I paint the actual piece, I used to throw them away when I first started painting but I have come to love pieces like this more and more. Atlas is a second-generation Titan, son of Iapetus and Clymene. Following the Titanomachy (the war between the Titans and the Olympians), Zeus condemned Atlas to eternally hold the celestial sphere (often depicted as the world) on his shoulders.

As a fan of Greek Mythology it felt apt to use Atlas for this artwork, signifying his strength of character in carrying 'Hope' for all those in need of hope as we all are. The cardboard was given a defused background which also allows the vibrant colours in the graffiti Hope lettering to stand out. The colour and artwork really pop on this one off piece of art and will super cool in any room in a frame.
