Pax Anarchy Golfer with Float Frame

The 'Pax Anarchy Golfer with Float Frame' has been created on canvas. Pax is a character I created a couple of years ago and is becoming a central character to a lot of my new artwork. There is a huge amount of detail gone into this piece and it really resonates with the colours and vibrancy and how all of the different styles come together. The cartoon style character of Pax (his name means Peace), the pop art feel to the artwork as he stands on top of a circle of grass (this idea came from when groundsmen remove the grass for a new hole on the green), with his golf bag and baseball bat covered in positive graffiti.

Pax has had enough of trying to play golf (anyone who has played the game or watched it will understand his frustration), so he has decided to take a baseball bat and see if he can do any better. Always dressed for the occasion, carrying his own Anarchy pin flag and wearing his matching polo top, Pax is on a mission to succeed.

This was created whilst I ran my pop up shop, the idea came from a conversation I had in the shop about Pax and one thing led to another.

Each blade of grass, the detail in his sneakers, the golf clubs details, his eyes and hair....everything has been hand cut into a stencil and then a mix of freehand painting and using stencils using spray paint to create the artwork.
